Dr. Marc Shepard is a widely respected physician, earning Washingtonian Top Doctor 2017-2019 and Medstar Physician of the Year in 2017. He has worked as an expert witness for both plaintiffs and defendants, specializing in cases regarding Internal Medicine and Long Term Care for over 15 years.
Background
After graduating from medical school at Northwestern University and completing his residency in internal medicine and primary care at George Washington University Hospital, Dr. Shepard went into private practice. Through his practice, Dr. Shepard served patients across the DC metropolitan area for more than 40 years.
Dr. Shepard also has extensive experience in long-term care, serving as staff physician and then medical director of the Rock Creek Manor Nursing Home from 1986-2011, and the Jeanne Jugan Residence from 1982-present.
From 2012-2019, he worked with Medstar Physician Group as part of a multi-specialty practice. He also served as the principal investigator for several clinical trials as part of the Medstar Health Research Institute.
In addition to his work as a practicing physician, Dr. Shepard has over a decade of experience serving as an expert witness in cases regarding internal medicine, nursing homes, long-term care and geriatric care. He has traveled across the country to provide expert testimony in high-profile cases.
